About the Event
An afternoon of song, narrative and multi-media exploring the extraordinary life of Sweden’s Jenny Lind, the most famous singer of the 19th century. From penury she rose to unparalleled heights as an opera and concert singer, mesmerizing queens and kings, as well as people of all ages and financial strata. Her American tour, with impresario P.T. Barnum, may well be considered the grandest in our history. You’ll hear songs she sang, woven with a narrative of her life and images of Lind in portrait and in costume. Performers include, Laura Loge, soprano; Steven Luksan, pianist; and narrator, Kevin Hugh Lynch, Jenny Lind Historian and Archivist.
