About the Event
Whidbey Island Nordic Lodge is hosting author Don Pugnetti Jr. and his wife Wendy on Saturday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. to discuss Mr. Pugnetti’s heart-wrenching and poignant debut novel, A Coat Dyed Black. This free event is open to the public. After the Nazi invasion in 1940 and the collapse of Norway’s military, it falls upon ordinary Norwegians to fight back. Inspired by members of Wendy’s Norwegian family, A Coat Dyed Black is filled with thrilling historical details which illuminate the sacrifices of ordinary people who are compelled to do the extraordinary.
A Coat Dyed Black is a Nancy Pearl Book Award Finalist of 2023. It was a reading selection of the Lodge’s Bok Klubb in 2024. Readers found it to be compelling, intriguing, and page-turning and found themselves caring deeply for the characters who were brought to life under the author’s pen.
